Wow! Where Did the Time Go??

We have been moving the last couple of weeks and I have been really busy packing, unpacking, sorting, trashing and organizing. It snowed and rained while we were moving which made things fun.....and now our basement, that the landlord assured me wasn't a wet basement, has been flooded since Friday morning. I took a picture of the backyard which has essentially become a pond. The water is constantly seeping up into the basement floor. Oh well, thank God for plastic containers!

My washing machine also decided not to work when we moved it so we had to go get a new one. Not good timing, but a washer is definitely a necessity!

All in all I love the new house and can't wait for the water to dry up so we can see the yard and for the warm weather to get here so I can start planting flowers.

Here's hoping for dry weather for New York and some rain for Oklahoma!

Wow! It HAS been Awhile!

Last Friday, after a busy day of sewing and crafting, I felt really tired and ache. Then on Saturday and Sunday I ran a fever all day and I was so ache. Anyway, I feel better now, not perfect, but better. It has been beautiful here in NY and the kids and I have really enjoyed the warm weather.

Water Fun!

Last night my kids and grand daughters decided to play water slide. The kids put a hose up on the top of the slide and a sled full of water at the bottom of the slide and then the fun begins. Pretty ingenious!

It was only in the high 70's here when they were playing. I bet this would have felt really good for those people in the 100+ places.

A Busy Weekend

We had a pretty busy weekend. Earl and I watched our grand daughters from Thursday night until yesterday afternoon. All of the kids were so good! Here are some pictures I thought I'd share of our weekend.

My son Jeremy and his girlfriend Amanda took me to the hospital to see little Jesse. This is a picture of Jesse and his momma, Fatima.

Here is me with Jesse
(You won't see many pictures of me on my blog, don't laugh!)

He's so onrey!

Little Austin had fun in the little pool.

and finally the toads that the kids played with all weekend.
They finally did set them free yesterday afternoon.
We had a busy, but fun weekend! It was nice to have the grand daughters, but just as nice when they left! It seems like I had dirty cups and freeze pop wrappers everywhere. After the girls left Mallory was back over the neighbors house, Ezie had a friend over, Earl had to work and I did some weeding in my flower gardens.

I hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Burmese Water Festival

In our small town (7,700ish) we have a community of people from Burma. Mallory has had a best friend, May, since pre-K that is Burmese. We went to the Burmese Festival this year, but unfortunately we missed the music and dancing. We did get to eat some delicious food, enjoy wonderful hospitality and watch our kids have a blast with some of their school friends. Next year, we're definitely going for the whole day. Earl and I both felt like we missed out on a wonderful time by being so late! Earl had to work at his second job all day though. Oh well, next year we will plan better so we can spend the whole day at the festival!

Just like the program shows, the kids enjoyed a water fight!

This little girl has been in Ezie's class for the last 2 years. Have you ever seen such a big smile!?

One of the little girls was so cute. She ran up to Earl with a water bottle and dumped some on him and said with a huge smile, "Happy Burmese Water Festival Day!" Earl got the biggest kick out of it! We had a nice time and we even walked the 2 miles their and 2 miles back, which was a nice bit of family time and some good excercise for me. What a great day!!

My DIL made this up using the pictures of my 5 oldest boys. So funny!
