Playing Catch Up On My Blog

I used to love blogging and since Facebook became so popular I pretty much quit blogging and became addicted to Facebook.  I do enjoy Facebook, but I really miss blogging.

Lexie and Jake were blessed with another healthy baby boy, Wesley, a month ago.
Mallory is 5 months pregnant and doing wonderful.

Ezie and Jace are doing well.
The boys have been spending some time with a family friend and learning to ride ATV's.
Jace played baseball again this year.  It was his first year in the Major's division so he didn't get to play as much as last year but he did really well playing with the older boys.
Jace had a music recital so I bought him a new suit at the thrift store for a couple of dollars and he was pretty impressed with himself.
He has as you can tell opted from getting a haircut for the last year.
He has to get his swag on you know.

I haven't lost any weight yet.  My knee's hurt so bad from the arthritis and I'm looking forward to a knee replacement soon.  I'm trying to exercise some but it's really hard to even walk.  I'm determined to loose some weight though and build up some my muscles in my legs before surgery.

I'll do more catch up over the next few days.
Seriously.....
I will be a better blogger.

Baseball with Jace and Matchbox Gifts

I LOVE watching the kids play sports and it's now
Baseball season with Jace!

Jace is on a knew team this year and his coach is letting him try out different positions.
I am really happy with this and Jace is having a lot more fun than being stuck in outfield all season.

Our little friend Amber and my Mallory at the game.

Between ball practice and games
I've been making some matchboxes

The top matchbox I decorated like a little suitcase for one of my neighbors.
His sister-in-law is going to Germany this week
and he thought this would make a cute going away gift.

The other one is 1 of 3 that I made for Mother's Day Gifts.

So cute and fun to make!

Mermaid Swap -- We were both late on this one!

Yesterday I received my swap item from Lisa of Faerie Enchantment. We were both running very late on this one. Lisa has a new book out and has been really busy, and well, you all already know how I am.
Here is a picture of the bottom of the Crown that Lisa made for me. I love this picture!

Here is the top part of the crown. I love the mermaid holding a parasol! Here is the whole crown. So beautiful and creative! Thank you so much Lisa! I love your artwork and am so glad we got to swap!!

Here's a sneak peak of what I am sending Lisa.
It is different but I think it turned out pretty nice. I hope she likes it!!

Well, here's a little update on my family. Yesterday, Mallory started summer school and of course, she loves it! We went to pick her up and the school has a free lunch program for kids under 18 so Ezie and Jace got to sit down and eat a hot lunch with Mallory. They have the same program down the street but there's is a gross sandwich, an almost rotten piece of fruit, warm milk, etc... What a difference in where you go. I'm going to pick Mallory up every day so the boys get out and they can have a nice lunch too!

Jace had to go to the Dr.'s on a follow up for his weight. He gained a little more than a half a pound and so the Dr. decided he is just going to be a little guy. I could of told her that myself, but oh well!

Then home for a nap and then I took Mallory to the library for the opening day of their summer reading program. They were having a book sale where you could buy a bag of books for $5.00. I think we picked out about 20-25 books. What a bargain!! I collect Little Golden Books and so I found some of the ones that I had been looking for. I love the pictures in the older books! A couple of the books I got just for the pictures so I can use them on tags and stuff.

After that we came home and I sat outside with Jace while the other kids took off to play with their friends and then Lexie and Anthony joined us and we went to the towns All Star Baseball game for the 11-12 year old boys. Wow! What a difference a few years makes in how the boys play. They are so much faster and hit the ball so much harder than the 8-9 year olds. Our team lost but it was still fun to go and watch!

Well, I'm off for another day of little adventures with the kids and summer activities. Have a good one!
What is everyone else doing today??

Spring and Baseball Season Have Finally Started!!!

I couldn't get pictures of Ezie and Mallory practicing baseball, but I did get some of them on the playground afterwards
Ezie is playing tag with his friends on the equipment
Mallory climbing on the poles, my princess is a tomboy!

Ezie was bouncing Jace on his shoulders. I've never seen Jace laugh so hard!!

Yes!! Spring has finally hit Rensselaer! The kids had their first baseball practice and then they got to play on the playground. It was so nice to be out and about again!

Something funny though, I parked the van and sat their for a minute watching all these men getting out of their cars with their sons (some girls) and you could just see the testosterone in the air. Wow! These kids are 4-12 that were practicing but to most of these dads it seemed like the major league. The dads were walking towards the field, ball glove in hand and baseball cap on their heads, their chests stuck out and a little bad a-- walk going on. As a woman watching it was kind of funny, yet in our small dysfunctional town, it was really nice to see. Baseball and Football are two of the only events that seem to bring a lot of the parents and children together.

I love Spring and even though the weather is suppose to get crappy again tomorrow, I know that Spring is now in the air. Even my daffodils finally are coming up and my peony's are just starting to poke their little heads up out of the ground. Yes!! Spring is finally here!!

My DIL made this up using the pictures of my 5 oldest boys. So funny!
