Wowzie! I Haven't Blogged in a Long Time!

Boy how time flies!

 

Where do I begin??

 

Since I last blogged we've moved to a 2 bedroom apartment.

It's tight and we had to get rid of a lot of stuff,

but all in all I like the apartment.

 

The kids are all doing well and adjusting to the new place.

Our kids are the greatest....they are so adaptable and don't complain.

We are lucky that the kids are so easy going!

Just a little update and hopefully I'm on the road back to blogging!!

LiFE.....IT's ConStantLY A CHaNGin'

Life is full of changes and change can be an interesting thing. Changes happen when we least expect them I have learned.....sometimes for the good and sometimes.....well, they just plain suck! Eventually though, I usually find the silver lining around the not so welcome changes.

Earl lost his second job on Dec. 30. He has worked for 3 years at a church doing cleaning. It was quite unexpected. No notice, no severence and no renewal of our lease on the house we rent from the church. So now we are short $1,400.00 a month and a place to live.

Fortunately, we found a house about 10 minutes away (so the kids can stay in the same school district). It's not as big and not nearly as nice, but it has potential. I will be loosing my craft room, one bedroom and a second bathroom. It's a really old house and the landlord said we can do whatever we want to fix it up. It does have a nice big yard and a nice front porch. There is a creek a couple of houses down that the kids can so some exploring around.

So, even though it is a very unexpected change, I think it will be nice. Earl and I are actually excited and once he finds a new second job and we get moved we should be okay again. Until then.....we just go with it and accept the new changes in our life.

Day 6 and Dear Santa I Really Need a New Camera

We had little snow flurries today, not enough to build a snowman but my Day #6 box is of a Snowman. Today's box is from Sandi at Musings of Samiam and it is a cute snowman box with the prettiest little pair of angel earrings inside.

I collected angels as a child and I still love them.

As you can see my camera takes terrible pictures. My camera has been dropped a few times and is literally held together with duck tape. It only works when it wants to and I really would LOVE Santa if he could bring me a new camera for Christmas.

Here is my Day 6 box. This is one of my favorite boxes that I made.

Snow, snow and more snow.......

These are the trees in my backyard.

They look so pretty!

We've been so lucky this winter and only had a couple of mild snowstorms, but our luck has run out. It started snowing yesterday and we have about 11 inches and it's suppose to snow until the weekend. Next Tuesday there is another snow storm that is due to hit us. The kids are loving it!! It isn't that cold outside and the snow is great packing snow. Earl on the other hand is working his butt off doing snow removal.

I guess there isn't much you can do about the snow when you live in Upstate NY though. I have to comend the cities around here though. The main roads are always plowed and salted right away and the side roads are done several times throughout any snow storm. They do a great job and try to keep our roads safe.

So today, I guess I'll keep drying the kids snow clothes, making hot chocolate and get started on a pot of soup so when Earl finally gets home he can try to unthaw.

Christmas, Snowmen and Sewing

We had a nice time the other night with all of the kids and grandkids here for Christmas. It was busy, fun and exhausting! I forgot to take pictures of the things I made, but here is some of the stuff.....12 pillowcases, 12 mice ornaments, 7 building blocks, 6 hotpads, 4 tissue cases, 3 drawstring bags, 3 crocheted dishcloths, 2 crocheted scarves, 2 baby blankets, 2 covered photo albums, 1 lap quilt, 1 baby bib, 1 tote bag, and I'm almost finished with a crocheted hat, scarf and another dishcloth. I think that's all. I still have so much more to get done!!!!

We're Getting in the Spirit

We're getting in the Christmas spirit this weekend. I've been sewing and crocheting gifts and the kids have watching Christmas DVD's. We've all been going around the house singing Christmas carols. I just need an elf to please come help me clean the house. The fairies don't seem to want to help me so maybe an elf will???

One of Mallory's friends had a Ginger Bread House Make and Take Party yesterday. Now I think that her friends mother is absolutely crazy because she had 30 kids at her house to decorate gingerbread houses. This mom even made all of the gingerbread from scratch. All she asked was that each child bring a bag of candy to share with the others for decorating.

Then we had snow yesterday. The kids have been out for over an hour this morning playing with our neighbor. They are having so much fun! Jace LOVES the snow.

Nothing Has Been Going On Here

Not much has been going on here worth blogging about. I babysat my twin grandsons, T.J. & Jordan, last week for a few hours. They had fun being pulled around the house in the laundry basket. They are the quitest little boys and so tiny. They are 17 months old now.



The kids were so bored the other day. It was actually a nice day, in the 40's, so they went out and made a snowman out of the slushy leftover snow. I like the way he looks like one of those snowmen that are melting.



Saturday my son and his girlfriend brought Sabrina and Austin over and then T.J. spent the night with us. So here's a picture of Nana and 3 of the 8 grandkids.

Other than that I've become addicted to a couple of games on Facebook and I have been working on swaps. I finished Ezie and Mallory's Pixie Swap packages and I'm almost done with Missy's Fairy Swap Package. I've also been crocheting an afghan for a friend. I'll post a picture of the squares tomorrow. I think it's going to turn out really pretty.

The Kids Made the Snow Fun!

The kids played snowball baseball the other day in the snow. They had a blast! Then they went over to the playground behind our house and made snow forts under the slides and stuff.

I'm glad they had fun! We're suppose to have another snow storm next week. Ugh!!! I still want spring to hurry up and get here!!

Will Winter Ever End?

It's snowing again today. We're suppose to have over 8 inches by the time it's done and then ice on top of that. You can see there are dead branches everywhere and the only sign of life is the footprints in the hill of snow. Winter when will you end? It feels like you've been here forever this year.

Our First Big Snow this Winter

Friday we had our first big snow.

It was only 12 degrees yesterday, but that didn't stop the kids from getting out there and playing and sledding.

My grandson Anthony, enjoyed the snow on Friday when his mommy had a snow day from school. He wanted to eat the snow.

After playing outside in the 12 degree weather for an hour or so the kids finally came in.
Mallory was crying because her little feet were so cold
and Jace was crying because they had to come in.
We are suppose to get another 6-10 inches today and have white outs from the wind.
Moving has not been happening much with this weather!
