We're on Spring Break and Spring Weather is Here!!!

It was so pretty out today. Just a little chilly, but the kids have LOVED playing outside all day! Jace didn't understand at first why I wouldn't give him his coat to put on, but it didn't take him to long of being outside to quit asking. I've had the windows open and it's just been gorgeous!
There is a little girl next door that is the same age as Mallory. It's been really nice for her to have playmate. Ezie had a friend from the old house over last night and now he's over there tonight. Everyone is Jace's best friend. He just loves being around kids.

After the daycare is closed the kids can go over her and play. This is basically our backyard. Yay for Spring!!!! Yay for the Sunshine!!!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

We have had so many rainy days lately and we're suppose to keep having them.....but at least it's still in the 40-50's and not freezing!!! Since we haven't lived here to long I don't know what kind of flowers for sure that I have coming up. I think I know, but it is like little surprises coming out of the ground! I'm so glad that there are some flowers already here and coming up so beautifully. I haven't raked yet because it still isn't that warm and I figure the plants could use a few more weeks of a little bit of coverage. I can't wait to get out there and rake and plant and have a beautiful flower garden again!!

After the Viv's Easter Egg Hunt yesterday Earl painted some branches for me so I could have a little Easter Tree. We have the old kind of radiators and I like to put something in front of these pipes to kind of pull the attention away from them.

Here's What I've Been Working On Lately

I feel so boring lately. I haven't really had anything to blog about. I hated that Alexis Grace got kicked off of Idol last week. She was my favorite. I hope good things happen for her! My favorite shows are on all at the same time now, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, The Mentalist and thank goodness they are changing Samantha Who to a new night because I can only record 2 shows at a time.

So during all of this t.v. time I've been crocheting an afghan. I've got 75 out of 125 squares done. I think it is going to turn out nice! I love the colors and the classic granny squares are my favorite. I should be done in a few weeks, hopefully.

I've also been working on a scrapbook and this is just a generic page in it. I have been having fun though adding paper and stitching together. I make such a big mess with glue so I'm trying to limit the amount I use. I am like a little kid with it........all over my fingers and clothes and whatever else is within it's reach. I did glue on all the buttons though.

I've also been finishing up a couple of swaps that I'll show pictures of here in the next few days. Busy, but boring. That's how I feel lately.
It's cold here again. Like in the low teens at night and 30's during the day. I think the 40-50 degree weather was just a tease. Hopefully this cold blast doesn't last to long because spring is suppose to be here!!!!
Anthony did get over his croup last week. He was in ER all Monday night and then Wednesday when he went to the Dr.'s office they called the ambulance to have him taken 4 blocks to the ER because he needed oxygen right away. It was scary for my daughter, but the croup seemed to go away as fast as it came on. Hopefully he's done with that for a long time!! It's nice to have Anthony back over today to babysit. I missed the little guy!
Have a great day!!

Spring Is On The Way.......Finally!

Yesterday was so nice here in New York. It actually got to 52 degree's. The kids played outside all day and Earl got to drive his tractor around the yard to pick up all of the branches from the ice storms that we had. I was in the house working on a couple of projects that I needed to finish and cleaning house (although it is trashed this morning........ everyone was outside all day, yet the house still got messy?????)

This is the view out of my window from where the computer sits. It was so nice to have the window opened for the day!
Earl took turns giving the kids rides on his tractor. He got it last year, but was never able to use it so this is like a new toy for him and the kids.

Happy Spring!!!!

Dr.s Office -- Strep X 7 --- Is There Light at the End of the Tunnel???

Light at the End of the Tunnel -- Get it??? Ha! Ha! Ha!

Well, maybe the reason we haven't been able to get rid of the crud in our house is that we have strep. Nobody has been up to par for several weeks now but we just thought it was summer colds and sinus', WRONG! Lexie went to the Dr's. last Friday, her boyfriend on Saturday and their baby, Anthony on Monday. They all had strep. Jace had a scheduled appt. on Tuesday and was sick so they tested him......strep. We took the other two kids in on Wed. and they had strep too. Earl and I went today because what are the odds that we wouldn't have strep. Yeppers! We are lucky victims #6 and #7. So everyone is on antibiotics and I am going to Lysol my house good tomorrow.

Okay, spring is finally here, we're all on antibiotics, so this had better be the end of the crud in our house!!! There is no reason for any more of it!! Right?? Right!!!

Spring Break Has Sprung

My kids are on Spring Break this week. I really do love when they're home (ask me on Sunday if I still feel the same). I thought I would share with you what Mallory invented yesterday and ate for breakfast this morning. She gets a bun and puts a ton of mustard on it and then she has me slice carrots up and puts them on. One carrot sandwich on a hot dog bun, heavy with mustard. MMMMMmmmmmm! She had 2 of these for breakfast.
Ezie made this recipe up a couple months ago and he has other people eating them now. He puts peanut butter on a bun and then adds sprinkles to it.

I'm originally from Wichita, Kansas and have been in New York for about 12 years now. When my first granddaughter was about 2 her mom told me to make her a Peanut Butter and Fluff sandwich. Fluff?? My mom only bought Fluff at Christmas time, I think. I guess here in the East, Fluff is a big thing on sandwiches. ???? We grew up on the regular P.B. & J.'s. I guess I was boring---or normal!!

So, we just had friend #1 stop by for the day. He's a great kid though and he keeps my kids occupied. So, I'm off to start my mommy duties for the day and I guess the kids are going out to catch gardener snakes. YUck! YUck! YUck! I HATE snakes and we are infested with those little nasties in the spring.

DON'T FORGET TOMORROW IS TERRIFIC TUESDAY'S GIVEAWAY! I think I am putting some precut fabric squares in.

Spring and Baseball Season Have Finally Started!!!

I couldn't get pictures of Ezie and Mallory practicing baseball, but I did get some of them on the playground afterwards
Ezie is playing tag with his friends on the equipment
Mallory climbing on the poles, my princess is a tomboy!

Ezie was bouncing Jace on his shoulders. I've never seen Jace laugh so hard!!

Yes!! Spring has finally hit Rensselaer! The kids had their first baseball practice and then they got to play on the playground. It was so nice to be out and about again!

Something funny though, I parked the van and sat their for a minute watching all these men getting out of their cars with their sons (some girls) and you could just see the testosterone in the air. Wow! These kids are 4-12 that were practicing but to most of these dads it seemed like the major league. The dads were walking towards the field, ball glove in hand and baseball cap on their heads, their chests stuck out and a little bad a-- walk going on. As a woman watching it was kind of funny, yet in our small dysfunctional town, it was really nice to see. Baseball and Football are two of the only events that seem to bring a lot of the parents and children together.

I love Spring and even though the weather is suppose to get crappy again tomorrow, I know that Spring is now in the air. Even my daffodils finally are coming up and my peony's are just starting to poke their little heads up out of the ground. Yes!! Spring is finally here!!

We Got to Open Our Windows Today!!!

Jace's artwork -- on my living room wall -- EVERY wall is Jace's canvas!!

Mallory and Ezie getting the paints ready -- SSHHHh! I didn't see it, but I think they
might have spilled a little white on the floor!

The finished product! I told Ezie that his looks like a blue eye hiding behind a pink glob and Mallory went for the textured effect. She painted red then white over it after it partially
dried and then pressed a piece of bubble wrap over the top.

Today it was around 50 today here in Rensselaer. It was so nice, the kids and Earl went out and played with the bubble machine while I folded socks. I think I lost out on the deal! We opened all the windows and aired the house out for the afternoon. Jace and I took our daily nap with our blankets under the opened window. It felt so good cuddling up with him and breathing in fresh air.

After I woke up, Ezie and Mallory decided to paint. They don't get to do that to much anymore because it's so hard to keep Jace out of it. They had so much fun!! Mallory cleaned up most of the mess by herself and then I joined in. Ezie came down a little later and helped with some other stuff in the kitchen.

Okay, I'll be back in a little bit. It's time to do some mom stuff.
