I am not a "quilter" by any means. Usually my quilts are just patchwork blocks that I machine quilt with an X to the back side of the blanket. My kids always love the blankets though and I have fun making them. Here is the one I made for my grandson Anthony for his 2nd BD last week.
I had some John Deere fabric and panels that I had bought on the dollar rack at Wal-Mart about 7 years ago for Ezie. Sorry Ezie! I put the panel in the middle and a strip of fabric on the top and bottom of it and then on each side. Each strip has been machine stitched to 2 pieces of flannel.
Then I added the backing and machine stitched it in places to the top piece. I did the same thing to the pillow panel. It turned out really cute and I think Anthony likes it!
