I'm Going Back to the Basics

I started drinking 6-8 cups of water a day and getting out and walking a few times a week a couple of months ago. Although I haven't lost any weight I have felt better.

Yesterday though I got back on the diet they had me on when I was pregnant with Mallory and Jace and had diabetes. It is an 1800 calorie low carb diet. I lost a lot of weight when I did this before and felt really good. The main thing behind this way of eating is to eat small meals and snacks every couple of hours and by doing this you are keeping your blood sugar pretty level all day. I also found that I really wasn't that hungry and by eating something every couple of hours it seems like your eating all day long. The thing I really hate about eating this way is that I have to figure out what I am going to eat ahead of time, do math to figure out the carbs and write everything down that I eat.

I did really good yesterday, actually staying around 1200 calories and so far so good today. I know it's only been a day and a half, but that seems to be the hardest part for me....the getting started.

So wish me luck that this change in my diet and devoting more time each week to excercising will help me shed some weight!! I'm going back home to Kansas in January and would like to loose at least 45 lbs by then, that's half of my goal weight. I know that's a lot to expect, about 11 lbs a month, but I'm going to try hard and think positive!!!

You can do it Sherry! As the weight comes off you will feel more energetic and even more will come off. Either way, you will be loved.

You CAN do it Sherry - Cathy is right!! Keep up the good work!!! Can't wait to see you in January :) PS - I think my sisters are throwing a shower for me then....we wanted all you out of towners to be able to be there too!!! Love you!

Honestly, I'm not sure why, but this brought tears to my eyes. I know how much you want to lose weight & I have faith in you. You are such a beautiful person inside & out & I wish you felt the same. You are such a strong woman & I'm so proud to call you my mom! I KNOW you can do it. Don't lose hope.

I hate to exercise though Sherri. I am such a couch potato. The only exercise I like is dancing and I have to drive really far to find a venue with good music. I do not like it so much when I am by myself dancing. I want to lose 30 myself. I think you are on the right path. Good luck with your weight loss goals.
