A Halloween Swap

I was in a couple of different Halloween Swaps, I'll show one today and the other tomorrow. I got spoiled in both of these swaps. My partner in the Wicked Halloween Swap was Debbie Martinez. She sent me this wonderful package. There is a wall bright and spooky wall hanging and little witches cupboard and then the most amazing witch doll.

Isn't this witch wickedly gorgous!

then Debbie also included this mask, hair tye, and a really cool and spooky scrapbook.

Here's part of the package I sent to Debbie. I made a little Raggedy Kitty, a glittered Raven, a couple of stuffed grunged pumpkins and a BOO Banner. I also sent her some bags of goodies.

Thanks for a great swap Debbie. You definitely spoiled me with your great package.

Bumps in the Night Annie Swap

I participated in my second Annie swap with Aunt Pitty Pat as the host. This was the Bumps in the Night Annie Swap and we all had to use the same doll pattern and then decorate her up however we wanted with a Halloween theme. My partner was Irma and she sent me this super cupte Snow White Annie. She is so cute and she can't wait to sit in my craft room next to my elf from The Elves and the Shoemaker and my Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz that I received in other swaps.

Irma also made these really cool spiders. The have tootsie rolls in them and then pipe cleaners for the legs. Very cute and an idea I'm going to borrow for next year!

This is the Annie that I made for Irma. She is a Cheetah with her sidekick Kitty.

I can't wait to make some more Annie's. They are really fun and a huge Thank You to my sweet friend AwtemNymf for telling me how to make the loopy hair (it saved me a ton of time!) and for giving me the Kitty pattern in one of her giveaways.

Just a Couple of Quick Things

Val from Yarni Gras is having an "Enchanted Ornament Swap" if your interested. You only have to make ONE ornament in a nature theme. Fairies, gnomes, unicorns, acorns, etc...... and signups close on Halloween night. Be sure and check it out on her swap blog, Val's swaps are always so much fun!

and next
my newest thing I'm going to be putting in my shops.

HO! HO! HO!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I just finished this little purse for Christmas. It can be for little girls or for bigger girls who still believe or just believe in fun!! It's lined with a piece of Christmas fabric and the felt eyes and nose are glued on as well as stitched for extra security. I'm going to add a snap to the top that will be under the Santa Hat so it won't be seen.

Randomness

The other night I was helping Mallory look something up on the internet and we came across this picture. I was immediately taken in by it.

I never knew what a baby hedgehog looked like. They are so tiny and I love how their little bodies are all snuggled up inside the furry coats. I get teary eyed just looking at them.....such a tiny little miracle.

I just thought this was one of the most precious pictures and wanted to share it with you.

Finally!

I'm finally all caught up with my swaps...I'm doing backflips...actually I could never even do a cartwheel....but in my head I'm doing backflips. I only have one more swap to finish and it's an apron so that won't be bad at all!!

I'm throwing in the newest pictures of my 2 youngest grandson's, Chad, Jr. is 9 months and Little Jesse is 4 months.

Aren't they adorable?!?!?

I got the Mallory's Halloween costume done and cut the bottom off of Ezie's, so they're set now. I am going to start on 2 tote bags for someone who has been very patient with me and I also have a friend from back home who has requested me to make an Annie doll. I crocheted a hat for one of my nieces yesterday and started one for another niece. I even got some of the house cleaned up yesterday......you can actually see the rug in the living room and the laundry that has been sitting here for 2 weeks is put away. Whoo-Hoo!! I'm doing backflips in my head again!!

and finally.....I'll have some time to visit and catch up with my blogger friends!! Yay!!

I'm not sure that Little Jesse is into the whole costume thing, but Chad, Jr. is the smilingest little guy!

Have a great day!!

A Witchy Annie Giveaway

The sweet AwtemNymf is having another giveaway for an Annie pattern.
This time it is of Glinda the Good Witch.
Be sure and stop by her blog ASAP to enter.
The pattern is so cute and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I win!!
I love making Annie's!

2, 2, and 2

I got 2 Swaps Down, 2 In the Mail and 2 More To Go and then I think I am going to call it quits for the rest of the year. The first swap I'd like to share with you is a swap hosted by Jenny and Vicki called a Hug Mug Swap. We were to send a hug for a coffee cup and a coaster to put the cup on. The point of the swap was to send a "hug" to someone else in the world. My partner was Simonas from Croatia. I was amazed at her beautiful work on the mug and mat she sent to me. It is so beautiful and her stitches are so tiny and perfect. Thank you so much Simonas for such a beautiful way to dress up my coffee cup! She also sent me a pretty hankie for my birthday. How sweet is she?!?!

I borrowed the pictures that Simonas took of the mug hug that I made. I did a strip patchwork on one side and then on the other I had some fabric that said, "Friends all around the world hold hands and share their hearts". Mine is cute, but not nearly as beautiful as the one I received.

The next swap is Aunt Pitty Pat's, Spooks Rattles Pots and Pans Apron Swap. My partner was Diana Dwyer. Diana did the most perfect job of making my apron. I love the mixture of fabrics and the pattern is so cute! I can't wait to wear this apron to Lexie's Halloween party on Saturday. This was Diana's first swap and I think she did an absolutely wonderful job!!‏

Diana also sent some foamies and stickers. The kids were pretty happy with that! Then she also made this cute Halloween banner. I love all the Halloween fabrics and it looks so nice hanging up on my living room window.

Here's the apron I made for Diana. I went with a pirate theme. I'm really happy with how it turned out. AAaaarrrggghhhh!

I made her a pin (thanks to Val from Yarni Gras for the idea!) and some goodies for her two boys. I hope they all enjoy everything and I hope this was a positive first time swap experience for Diana!

Thanks to Jenny, Vicki and Marcel for hosting the swaps and a HUGE Thank You to Simonas and Diana for such wonderful swap packages. You both out did yourselves!

I'm Running Behind On Everything!

I feel like my whole life is running behind schedule the last couple of weeks. I didn't feel to good last week and then Ezie caught whatever I had. Mallory got sick on Sunday and she has had the cough, vomiting and fever. I signed up for to many swaps, to close together, and now I'm feeling overwhelmed! I'm having fun making everything, but I don't like having to rush. My house is a mess and it keeps getting messier by the minute. HELP! I need a fairy to come help me clean and stitch a little faster!!!

Okay, now that I'm done complaining I'm going to go and sew some more so my lovely swap partners will get there packages only a few days late.

A Halloween Party Hosted by A Fanciful Twist

Once upon a scary night there was a girl named Dorothy and a Cowardly Lion and they were on there way to a Halloween party.
They were so excited, but a little nervous about the walk to the party.

Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion had to walk through the woods.
The wind was blowing through the trees and making scary sounds which frightened them
.....but they kept on going.

Next, they had to walk past a scary building that had the windows broke out.
Dorothy was hoping that nobody was in there peaking out at them!
They kept on going though.

Next Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion had to walk by a cemetery.
They were pretty nervous and ran as fast as they could.

Dorothy was beginning to think she was lost when she came across an ODD looking little man.
He told her that the party was just past the jack-0-lanterns.
So they kept on going.

They found the jack-o-lanterns and they were shaking with fear by now....

but they kept on going.

Finally,

D0rothy and the Cowardly Lion arrived at the party,
but,
there was this horrible looking creature by the door who wouldn't let them in.
The Cowardly Lion was so scared by now
and really wanted to see his friends and get something to eat.

Then a gangster came to the door and told Dorothy they could enter.

and finally,

Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion were at the party!

There was food and games and all there friends were there too!

Chef Shrek had Rat Kaboobs

the other guests were all tangled up in spider webs

and there was even a priest trying to chase away a demon!
Here are some pictures of the other party guests.

Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion had so much fun with at the party, even though the walk there was pretty scary! Make sure you check out the Vanessa's blog and all the other guests Halloween Parties today.

Creepy Crafts

Gin received my package so now I can share with you the things I made for her. I crocheted a little spider web and attached a pin back on it. You can't see it very well, and I'm hoping my ancestors have a sense of humor because the became demons for this swap, if not I may be cursed for life now! I got the idea from Country Living. Their instructions were to put mini lights in the eyes to make them glow, but I just used green glow in the dark paint and put a dot over the eyeballs and then a tinier dot of red over that. I added the owl and black cat to the picture too.

Then I made a jar of ingredients for a "Witches Stew" for Gin. It has candy bones, teeth, eyeballs, blood suckers, and then rats, skulls and spiders. All you have to do is mix the ingredients in your cauldron with some juices and slime and let it simmer. You'll have a wonderful "Witches Stew"!

Next I made a jar of Pickled People for her. I just added some skeletons to an old jar and a drop of green food coloring and water. I thought it looked pretty cool!

I also made her another family picture and a Witches Cookbook. I found some recipes for some Halloween dishes and printed them off on to some cardstock that I crumpled and tea dyed. It ended up looking pretty cool.

I hope Gin enjoys her package! I had fun making it! Thanks again Val for thinking up such a fun Halloween Swap! Make sure you check out Val's Swap Blog to get some great ideas for Halloween!

How Well Do You Know Me?....Or Should it Be: How Well Do I Know Myself?

Melinda from Melinda's Fabric Fancies gave me this award. She is one of the most talented women I know and I LOVE her work!! I admire Melinda for her strength and determination and she is always a great friend!

1. Thank the person who gave this to you.
2. copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3.link to the person who nominated you.
4. name seven things about yourself no one would really know.

Okay, first of all, I have a really hard time thinking of things about myself. I consider myself a pretty boring person and I usually blog about whatever is going on in my life already. So I have been thinking about this pretty hard.

  1. Okay, this may surprise some of you. Last Saturday my daughter, Lexie and her friend Amber, took me out for a late birthday "Girls Day Out" and guess what we did???? They took me to get my lip pierced!

  2. I also have my nose pierced. My nose is on the right side and my upper lip is on the left. Earl wasn't thrilled at all with my piercing and neither was my mom. I love it though and it is something that I have wanted to do for a long time now. Thanks Lexie and Amber!!

  3. I would love to write a book someday. A children's book or a funny adult book.

  4. I am not a very social person. I never know what to say and end up talking to much about nothing.

  5. I wish I could dance.

  6. I LOVE westerns!

  7. I got a new pair of glasses a couple of months ago and only had them a month before I LOST them. I can't find them anywhere! Even though they changed my RX I still was taking them off for up close stuff and I don't know where I left them. I have looked everywhere I can think of and still can't find them. Actually, I loose a lot of stuff! So here are 7 things about me that may or may not interest you.

I hate passing on award because I never know who to pass them on to.

  1. I think I will start with Val from Life's Little Garden
  2. and then go to Kelly from Kelly's Recipes for Life
  3. Amber from Infertility is a Bitch
  4. I'll be back and finish....Jace is crying and needs me to hold him. He has a little cold.

Yarni Gra's Witches Cupboard Swap

Val from Yarni Gra's hosted this fun Witches Cupboard Swap and then much to my surprise she was my partner too. Yay! It was such a fun swap!!

Val sent me this wonderful "Skelepin" that she crocheted and then embellished. A jar of "Hand-Aids" to help with my multi-tasking. I defenitely can use that!! A "Dementia Spell" came with the jar of marbles since you all know I'm loosing my marbles half the time (unfortunately the jar broke in shipping). Some candy"Dragon Scales" that the kids couldn't wait to get into. The coolest "Soularium" full of glitter and skulls that Val made to hang in the window and capture souls and then some "Dehagification Pills" (candy corn) and we all know that I definitely can use those sometimes. Finally Val put some little "Babylon Candles" in that are each good for one trip to magically get me where I'm going.

and then Val was so sweet to send me these "Troll Peepers" since the jar of marbles broke. Wasn't that nice and such a surprise!! Thanks Val!
My partner should be getting her package today or tomorrow so I'll wait and post it then.
I hope she likes it!!!
Thanks again Val!!

A Generous Blogger!

My dear friend AwtemNymf just had a couple of giveaways last month and now she is having not one more, but two. Aren't these earrings beautiful? Guess what, AwtemNymf made them! She is very multitalented and always amazes me with her creativity! I am suppose to tell you all what my favorite pink thing is. HHHhhhhmmmm.......I have to think about this one. My favorite pink thing is probably the pictures of my two girls in pink when they were little.

Mallory on her 3rd Birthday

Lexie in about 3rd or 4th grade?

AwtemNymf's other giveaway is for a charm pack of Halloween fabric. I definitely think I could put that one to use! There is a jar of pumpkin candies on AwtemNymf's blog and you can enter by going there and guessing how many candy pumpkins are in the jar. Then you have to post about her giveaway too.

So make sure you go check out her lovely giveaways and have fun reading her blog....actually blogs...her blogs have been multiplying lately, but each is just as wonderful as the original!

My DIL made this up using the pictures of my 5 oldest boys. So funny!
